Abstract
In this paper the attempt is made to carry on a combined analysis and to show the interdependence of ion induced processes in graphite: surf ace erosion, ion retention, gas release and structure transformation. In this connection a number of erosion processes on the graphite surfa ce such as chemical sputtering, high temperature sputtering and partic le emission are considered.
