Abstract
Chemical dependency in the elderly has been recognized, as early as th e 1960's, as a problem. However, few efforts have been made to meet th e challenge of this serious social and medical issue. This paper descr ibes the treatment approach used by the Elders Health Program.1 This d escription includes the concepts that were incorporated into the treat ment program, implementation of the treatment group, and outcome resul ts.
