Abstract
Photoexcited furil adds to beta-methylstyrene in the [2 + 2] mode to p roduce the corresponding oxetane with high regio- and stereoselectivit y. The structure of the oxetane photoproduct has been unambiguously co nfirmed by an X-ray structural analysis.
