The fabrication and electrochemical characterization of a variety of s
elf-supported, thermoreversible organic electrolyte gels prepared usin
g 1,3: 2,4-dibenzylidene sorbitol (DBS) as a gelling agent, are report
ed. Impedance analysis and cyclic voltammetry were used to examine the
se gel systems, which exhibit ionic conductivities similar to correspo
nding liquid electrolyte solutions.
