Reference materials of animal origin have been analyzed for Cd, Cu, an
d Pb contents by voltammetry using ECO-TRIBO Polarograph with pen-type
renewed Hg electrode after dry ashing in superoxidizing atmosphere (m
ixture of O-2 + O-3 + NOX). The contents of all metals mentioned were
independently determined in aliquots of identical digests by atomic ab
sorption spectrometry (AAS). Statistical evaluation showed good correl
ation between both methods. Moreover, the electrochemical results obta
ined for biological certified reference material (CRM) 12-02-01 Bovine
Liver are in very good agreement with certified values for Cd and Pb.
