S. Siracusano et al., THE SKIN-RESPONSE IN EVALUATION OF THE SYMPATHETIC CHAINS AFTER RETROPERITONEAL LYMPHADENECTOMY - PRELIMINARY-REPORT, Scandinavian journal of urology and nephrology, 28(4), 1994, pp. 405-407
The sympathetic skin response (SSR) permits recording of the sympathet
ic amyelinic fibres activity in relation to the function of sudoriparo
us glands. We recorded the SSR to check the efficacy of ''nerve-sparin
g'' technique in surgery of the sympathetic retroperitoneal postgangli
onic fibres following lymphadenectomy in nonseminomatous testis cancer
. The results showed that SSR can be used to verify the integrity of t
he lumbar sympathetic chains after retroperitoneal lymphadenectomy.
