Abstract
N-[1-(Imidazol-1-yl)alkyl]amides were synthesized in good yield from i midazole, amides and aldehydes with elimination of water, which then r eacted readily with alcohols under mild conditions to give N-(alpha-al koxyalkyl)amides.
