Abstract
A 19 year old woman, who suffered from an oligoarthritis for two weeks was admitted to hospital because of sudden bilateral deafness with ti nnitus. In the following days she developed bilateral iridozyclitis an d interstitial nephritis. Borrelia-Burgdorferi IgM-titer was elevated in serum, but not in the cerebro-spinal fluid. After administration oi Ceftriaxon for ten days all clinical symptoms resolved. Since specifi c IgM-titer against Borrelia burgdorferi in some cases of isolated cra nial nerve palsies are not elevated in the cerebro-spinal fluid, neuro borreliosis should be taken into account and treated with intravenous cephalosporines.
