Abstract
Multiple symmetrical radial inner cracks in the thick walled cylinders are studied. The stress intensity factors (SIF) due to two kinds of i nternal pressure and full autofrettage process have been calculated re spectively for a wide range of crack configuration parameters using fi nite element analysis, and a group of formulae for calculating the SIF have been obtained by means of finite elements results. The maximum d ifference between the formulae and the finite element result is less t han 5%.
