M. Sultan et al., SIMULATION MODELING FOR DYNAMIC PERFORMANCE STUDIES IN A CHANNEL MODEL OF A SUPERCRITICAL-PRESSURE, DIRECT CYCLE LIGHT-WATER REACTOR, Annals of nuclear energy, 24(4), 1997, pp. 325-338
Dynamic performance studies in a channel model of a supercritical-pres
sure, direct-cycle light water reactor is carried out in this paper. I
n this supercritical-pressure system where some parameters are tempera
ture dependent within the channel, neutronic and thermal-hydraulic cal
culations are carried out to define the distributions of heat transfer
coefficient and power generated along the supercritical channel model
. A linearized mathematical nodal model representing the heat transfer
system is given for the supercritical channel. A digital-analogue sim
ulation technique is used to study the dynamic performance of the chan
nel model from the transient response of the fuel and coolant temperat
ures at different nodes in the supercritical channel model. Transient
responses are displayed for different modes of perturbation of the sys
