Abstract
It is frequently asserted that casework is antithetical to social chan ge. In opposition to that view, this article presents a model of socia l work practice that seeks to build politically progressive practice u pon a foundation of casework practice. The model views casework as a n ecessary stage in organizing people to mount successful political camp aigns for social change.
