Noise robustness of tuneable photo-refractive (TPR) filters, which can
be implemented for real time pattern recognition, is assessed and com
pared with phase-only and classical matched spatial filters. The bandp
ass selectivity of the TPR filters results in sharp correlation peaks
even when the input scene signal-to-noise ratio is decreased significa
ntly.
