Lj. Newsom et Dr. Shaw, INFLUENCE OF CULTIVATION TIMING ON WEED-CONTROL IN SOYBEAN (GLYCINE-MAX) WITH AC-263,222, Weed technology, 8(4), 1994, pp. 760-765
Cultivation timings and postemergence applications of AC 263,222 were
evaluated for sicklepod and pitted morningglory control in soybean. Cu
ltivation alone controlled each less than 35% season-long. A cultivati
on made 7 d after POST applications of AC 263,222 more consistently im
proved sicklepod and pitted morningglory control than a cultivation ma
de 3 d before, immediately after, or 3 d after the POST application. I
mazaquin PRE followed by 18 g ai/ha AC 263,222 controlled sicklepod 88
% or more and pitted morningglory 83% or more two of three years. A cu
ltivation made immediately after AC 263,222 POST resulted in reduced s
oybean yields in several instances compared to the same treatment with
out cultivation. A cultivation made 7 d after application of AC 263,22
2 increased soybean yields the most in several instances compared to a
ll other timings.
