Abstract
A new sterol (24S)-24-methylcholest-4-ene-3 beta,6 beta-diol (1) has b een isolated from a gorgonian, Rumphella aggregata, alongwith a comple x mixture of dihydroxy-sterols. The structure of the new sterol has be en determined from physical, chemical and spectral data.
