The excess molar enthalpies and volumes H-m(E) and V-m(E) of {xCH(3)(C
H2)(2u+1)CO2CH3 (u = 4 to 7) + (1 - x)CH3(CH2)(2v)CH3 (v = 2 to 7)} at
the temperature 298.15 K and at atmospheric pressure are reported. Th
e excess molar enthalpies of all the mixtures were positive over the e
ntire composition range decreasing with the length of the ester and in
creasing quasi-linearly with the length of the hydrocarbon. Since the
evolution of the excess molar volumes is analogous, this presents nega
tive values. A comparative analysis of the theoretical results using s
everal models to estimate X(m)(E) and V-m(E) is also included.
