Abstract
The aspartate aminotrasferase-2 isozyme in pea (AAT-2), whose synthesi s increased in symbiotic nodules that are developing, was studied. Pol ymorphism of pea forms was revealed according to electrophoretic mobil ity of AAT-2. Cross of pea lines, which contrast in this trait, and an alysis of the F2 generation showed monogenic control of the synthesis of AAT-2 isoforms. Data of genetic analysis demonstrates that the gene encoding AAT-2 is located in linkage group I, and its position coinci des with the location of the gene Aat-p which encodes the plastid form of an enzyme. This data allows us to make a conclusion about the plas tid location of the AAT-2 isozyme.
