Abstract
A method for predicting the presence of heparin from coagulation scree ning assays is described and data are presented. This method incorpora tes the use of a multilayer perceptron trained through an error back-p ropagation algorithm in analyzing clotting optical data profiles. This method may lead to the identification of abnormalities from screening assays that might otherwise go undetected, or require additional test ing to isolate.
