DEPROTONATION ENERGETICS OF DISODIUM URIDINE 5'-MONOPHOSPHATE AND DISODIUM GUANOSINE 5'-MONOPHOSPHATE IN WATER FROM EMF-MEASUREMENTS

The second step and third step deprotonation constants of 5'-uridine m onophosphate and 5'-guanosine monophosphate have been obtained in wate r from emf measurements of Harned Ehler-type cells comprising H-2 and Ag-AgI electrodes at different temperatures. The pK values have been f itted in the temperature equation pK=AT(-1)+B+CT by least squares meth od and the related thermodynamic quantities viz., Delta G degrees, T D elta S degrees and Delta H degrees have been obtained using the values of the coefficients A, B and C of the respective mononucleotides.
