Several new complexes of Fe(II) with N-salicylidene- and N-(2-hydroxy-
1-naphthylidene)amino acids (amino acids taken are glycine, 1-alanine,
1-phenylalanine, 1-valine, 1-leucine, 1-histidine and 1-tryptophan) h
ave been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, conduct
ivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements, and electronic spectra
l data. An octahedral geometry around the metal ion is proposed.
