Ad. Barve et Vm. Shinde, EXTRACTION AND DETERMINATION OF MICROGRAM AMOUNTS OF MOLYBDENUM(VI) AND TUNGSTEN(VI) IN CARBON-STEEL, MILD-STEEL, PLAIN STEEL AND MN-MO STEEL, Indian journal of chemistry. Sect. A: Inorganic, physical, theoretical & analytical, 33(12), 1994, pp. 1126-1128
A method is proposed for the extraction of microgram amounts of molybd
enum(VI) and tungsten(VI) from halide medium using tris(2-ethylhexyl)
phosphate dissolved in toluene as an extractant. Various experimental
parameters involved in the use of the method such as acid concentratio
n, period of equilibration, nature of stripping agents and interferenc
e by diverse ions have been studied. The logD-logC plot is used to asc
ertain probable extractable species. The method has been applied for s
eparation of molybdenum(VI) and tungsten(VI) in alloys like carbon ste
el, mild steel, plain steel and Mn-Mo steel. The analysis requires 15-
20 min.
