GEOMETRICAL SINGULARITY ON THE LATERAL ED GE OF A PLATE - EXEMPLARY PROBLEM OF THERMAL CONDUCTION

We consider a plate with a geometric perturbation in the lateral edge. The asymptotic expansion theory gives a two-dimensional problem. But close to the boundary, we must add a three-dimensional corrective term to improve the asymptotic expansion and to obtain a local description of the stress field. We study the case of thermal conduction consider ed as an exemplary problem.
