Abstract
Identification and quantitative analysis of cadmium were obtained by h igh performance liquid chromatography using ultraviolet detection meth ods after selective extraction of hexamethylene ammonium-hexamethylene dithiocarbamate-cadmium chelate. The proposed method was applied to t he determination of cadmium alone or together with copper in plant ext racts. Satisfactory results were obtained compared to those achieved b y flame atomic absorption.
