P. Duquenne et al., APPLICATION OF INDUCTIVE HEATING TO GRANULAR MEDIA - MODELING OF ELECTRICAL PHENOMENA, Canadian journal of chemical engineering, 72(6), 1994, pp. 975-981
A model is examined in order to predict the behaviour of a granular be
d made with conductive particles subjected to an inductive electromagn
etic field. The model shows how heat generated in the bed can be descr
ibed by its electric impedance for the high-frequency generator requir
ed for inductive heating. Once the relationship between electrical cha
racteristics and power dissipation has been established, comparisons b
etween experimental and theoretical results are presented and the vali
dity of the model is discussed.
