Abstract
The paper describes a method for the determination of the power factor in short-circuit tests based on the analysis of the current behaviour The knowledge of the first two zero-crossing instants of the current permits the computation of the power factor with a satisfactory level of accuracy. The method can be easily adopted in short-circuit test la boratories equipped with digital acquisition and processing systems.
