Sb. Roy, NOTE ON THE MAGNETISM OF UCU2GE2 - COMMENT, Philosophical magazine. B. Physics of condensed matter. Structural, electronic, optical and magnetic properties, 71(1), 1995, pp. 105-106
It is argued that, in disagreement with the conclusions of Kuznietz, P
into and Melamud (1993, Phil. Mag. B, 68, 195), a ferromagnetic-antife
rromagnetic transition found in recent neutron scattering studies of a
well-annealed sample of UCu2Ge2 is real, in agreement with the indica
tions of the electrical and magnetic data quoted in Roy and Coles (199
1, Phil. Mag. B, 64, 741) on which the above paper was commenting, and
with the results of other workers. It is argued that this behaviour i
s unlikely to be due to non-stoichiometry of the samples.
