Abstract
H-1 chemical shift spectroscopy has been used to determine the diffusi ng species in layered and defect pyrochlore structures of HNbWO6.xH(2) O (x=1.5, 1). A narrow signal at delta=11.3 ppm in the former indicate s the presence and diffusion of H3O+ ions, while for the latter compou nd delta=7.7 ppm, implying the absence of H3O+ ions.
