Abstract
The usability of the gradient force trapping technique for observing R aman scattering from single droplets during the emulsion polymerizatio n process of styrene is examined. We are able to follow the progress o f the polymerization reaction by characterizing spectroscopically the different kinds of droplets. By means of this technique Raman investig ations are possible to describe reactions in emulsion droplets without disturbing effects.
