A series of micromechanical FEM simulations of the micromechanics of t
he austenite-->pearlite transformation in steel has been carried out.
From the results of these simulations, the transformation plastic stra
in associated with this transformation is analysed as a function Of st
ress level, stress multiaxiality and stress history. Comparisons are m
ade with the analytical models of Greenwood-Johnson, Leblond and Fishe
r.
