St. Rybachek, RADIO-WAVE PROPAGATION FROM ANTENNAE AT SATELLITE ALTITUDES INTO THE EARTH-IONOSPHERE WAVE-GUIDE, Journal of atmospheric and terrestrial physics, 57(3), 1995, pp. 303-309
The problem of the excitation of the earth-ionosphere waveguide by a s
hort linear antenna or by a small circular one at satellite altitudes
is considered. The formulation allows for a spherical regular wave gui
de as well as for a radially inhomogeneous anisotropic ionosphere. A m
ethod for the solution is based on the use of the reciprocity theorems
for anisotropic media. Numerical techniques have been developed. Some
results for VLF are given. To gain some physical interpretations, the
fields of sources at low ionospheric heights were investigated.
