Abstract
Hyponatremia is a common clinical problem and fan result in severe mor bidity and even death. Understanding the pathophysiology of hyponatrem ic encephalopathy is central to accurate diagnosis and management. Thi s article reviews the controversies surrounding the treatment of hypon atremia with special emphasis on risk to benefit ratio of different th erapeutic strategies.
