Abstract
For quantification of the qualitative Baudouin test, a simple spectrop hotometric method was standardized for the estimation of sesamol, a ph enolic substance found in sesame oil. Different admixtures of conventi onal oils containing 1.0 to 5.0% sesame oil were prepared, examined fo r total sesamol concentration, and the corresponding red units measure d in a 1-cm cell, on Lovibond scale are reported. The data indicated g ood correlation among these tests.
