Abstract
Maps of the tropical Atlantic sea level obtained from ''Geosat'' satel lite measurements were compared with the maps of the dynamic topograph y of the sea surface generated for the depth of 800 dB by means of lar ge-scale hydrological observations. Estimations of accuracy of the sea level retrieval sufficient for the analysis of the seasonal variabili ty of the global currents were made by means of ''Geosat'' satellite o bservations.
