Abstract
The paper shows the possibility to make geolocation of the scanning im ages obtained from the AVHRR instrument from the NOAA satellite with t he accuracy of about 1 pixel of the image. Algorithms developed to gen erate latitudinal and longitudinal grids and to provide fast transform ation of the image into the equidistant projection using MS Windows 3. 1 are also described.
