Abstract
A mixture of endo-H and exo-H isomers (1a and 1b) of the (eta 4-C(5)Me (5)H)PtCl2 complex was prepared by the reaction of K2PtCl4 with C(5)Me (5)H in MeOH. The mixture of isomers reacts with CpTl in the presence of TIBF4 to give a novel complex, [(eta 4-C(5)Me(5)H)Pt(eta(5)-C5H5)]( BF4-)-B-+, as a mixture of endo-H- and exo-H-isomers (2a and 2b). The data of H-1 and C-13 NMR spectroscopy of the resulting complexes are d iscussed.
