Abstract
The possibilities of and the restrictions on the luminescence of mater ials based on tellurates activated with divalent lead and trivalent bi smuth are reported and discussed. Photoionization influences the spect ral characteristics of luminescent materials and may be detrimental to the thermal quenching temperature.
