Ae. Wolf et al., MYSIS-RELICTA COLLECTED IN THE MISSOURI RIVER BELOW LAKE SAKAJAWEA, NORTH-DAKOTA, Journal of freshwater ecology, 9(4), 1994, pp. 343-347
The first introduction of Mysis relicta in Lake Sakakawea, North Dakot
a, occurred in 1974, followed by a second stocking in 1979. No evidenc
e of survival and reproduction was immediately apparent. In 1994, seve
ral mysids were collected during a ichthyoplankton study in the tailra
ce below Garrison Dam, which impounds Lake Sakakawea. Samples were col
lected biweekly during the summer of 1994. A total of 32 mysids were o
bserved in 23 samples from mid-July through August.
