APPROACH METHODS TO PROCESS THE RESULTS O F GAME MAMMALS WINTER REGISTRATION (CONSTRUCTION AND ANALYSIS OF DISTRIBUTION MAPS)

Regular game mammals' winter registration is carried out over the last 30 years. A method of account, Winter account of animal tracks on the itineraries, has been described in detail. A spesialized software for processing the results of this account on IMB PC XT/AT has been devel oped at the Institute of Evolutionary Animal Morphology and Ecology, R ussian Academy of Sciences. It allows one to make distribution maps an d analyse the obtained materials. The method was tested on the materia ls of regular accounts and proved to be suitable for obtaining correct results. It is an acceptable approach to documenting and ''legalizati on'' of the archive materials and formation of constantly renewable ec ological data bases.
