Abstract
A new species of macrochelid mite assignable to the Holostaspella cael ata species-group is described on the basis of adult female and immatu re stages associated with the dung beetle, Copris ochus. This is the f irst record of this species-group from Japan, and the first descriptio n of immature stages of the caelata group.
