Abstract
At concentrations relevant to heavy-ion inertial confinement fusion co nverters, the seed atoms that are used to optimize the converter radia tive properties may have a non-negligible effect on the charge state o f the beam ions. This can result in range lengthening compared with pu re low-Z converters. Calculations of this effect are presented.
