D. Azzi et Hw. Kropholler, ACCURATE CONTROL OF TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY - WORK MAY BE APPLICABLETO WET-END HUMIDITY CONTROL, Pulp & paper Canada, 95(12), 1994, pp. 142-145
The development of a multivariable control system for maintaining stan
dard conditions in a paper testing laboratory is discussed. The case s
tudy follows the development from initial studies and simulation to th
e implementation of a prototype system to an operating research-cum-te
aching laboratory The internationally accepted standard conditions req
uiring a tolerance of +/- 1 degrees C and +/- 2% RH are difficult to a
chieve using any of the existing control strategies. In addition, ener
gy consumption is excessive.
