Abstract
The reaction of 1,1'-bis(diphenylphosphine)ferrocene, fdpp, with a two fold excess of AuCl(SMe(2)) in dichloromethane yields [mu-1,1'-bis(dip henylphosphine)ferrocene-kappa P: kappa ylphosphine)ferrocence-P,P']go ld)}-dichloromethane (1/2), [{AuCl[Fe(C17H14P)(2)}].-2CH(C)l(2). The c oordination at the Au atoms in the dimeric [Au2Cl2(fdpp)(3)] complex i s distorted, involving three P-Au bonds and a long Au...Cl contact. Th e fdpp ligand adopts both chelating and bridging binding modes.
