Abstract
Recent progress in the use of Raman optical activity (ROA) to study th e stereochemical properties of biological molecules is described. The basic experimental, theoretical, instrumental and calculational method ology of backscattering ROA is presented together with examples of app lications to amino acids and peptides in aqueous solution.
