Abstract
Partial specific volumes, v(2)(-0), of poly(D-beta-hydroxybutyrate), P HE, were determined by density measurements in several chloroaliphatic hydrocarbons. We observed that v(2)(-0) of PHB in tetrachloroethane i s influenced only very little by temperature. This can be generalized for the group of solvents used. The experimental results are compared with the data obtained theoretically using the concept of additivity o f group contributions.
