Abstract
A method to obtain the oxidation potentials of tetraarylborates was de veloped which uses electron transfer rate constant measurements. The k eys to the method are choosing appropriate electron accepters, using M arcus theory of electron transfer, and independently determining the m aximum rate for electron transfer. When these criteria are met, oxidat ion potentials of reasonable accuracy and precision are obtained.
