Three soybean cultivars (Maple Arrow, Maple Belie, and Maple Glen) com
monly grown in the province of Quebec were heat processed by a single-
screw dry extrusion process. These soybean products were mixed into co
rnstarch-based diets that were formulated to provide 16% crude protein
. Diets were fed according to a repeated 3 x 3 Latin square design to
six gilts fitted with simple T-shaped ileal cannulas. Experimental obs
ervations, including apparent digestibilities of amino acids and crude
proteins at the distal ileum and of crude protein and energy over the
whole tract were not significantly affected by soybean cultivar (P >
0.05).
