Abstract
The effects of milking frequency and exogenous somatotropin on milk MD GI were investigated in cows. High levels of MDGI in milk were found d uring lactation; however, despite significant changes in milk yield, n either milking frequency nor somatotropin affected MDGI. The data do n ot support a role for MDGI in acute regulation of mammary synthetic ab ility.
