The occurrence of some uncommon species of Ceramiales (Rhodophyta) in
some areas of North-Western Italy is here reported on the basis of col
lections made over the last few years. Antithamnion algeriense is a ne
w record for Italy. For Antithamnion piliferum and Laurencia minuta su
bsp. scammaccae, species known for Spain and Southern Italy, the prese
nt records extend their geographical distribution northward. For Laure
ncia glandulifera female gametophytes bearing cystocarps were observed
for the first time. Data on the geographical distribution of these sp
ecies are also reported and discussed.
