A two-channel autoregressive analysis of irregular length of day varia
tions and sunspot numbers in an interval from 1962 to 1991 years has b
een done. It shows a correlation between quasi two-year periods of sun
spot numbers and the corresponding periodic component of irregular len
gth of day variations. The square coherent modulus at frequency 0.43 c
ycle yr-1 (period 2.3 years) is 0.64. The coherence phase at this freq
uency is 39-degrees.
