MMIC DESIGN AND GAAS FOUNDRY

Monolithic microwave integrated circuits will have a strong impact on the design of future microwave systems due to their promising attribut es of potential low cost for high volume production, improved ; reliab ility and reproducibility. The article gives an overview of MMIC desig n and GaAs foundry with particular emphasis to low-noise, nonlinear an d power circuits for use in microwave communications. Some of the circ uits developed in Alcatel and their main applications are also describ ed.
