Abstract
Three directions of investigation carried out at the Russian Scientifi c Center ''Applied Chemistry'' in the field of technology of fluorinat ed compounds are reviewed: synthesis of ozone-inert Freons, used as re frigerants and foaming agents in production of foamed plastics; prepar ation of high-purity fluorinated compounds used in microelectronics, m edicine, and fiber optics; and production of highly efficient surfacta nts used as foaming agents in fire-extinguishing compositions.
